Portrait of psychologist Benjamin Jurgasz.

I am a psychologist based in Warsaw.

I support people living between languages and cultures expats, migrants, individuals navigating different worlds, and anyone seeking to find their own place and way of living.

My name is

Benjamin Jurgasz.

Soul's Languages – the Languages of the Soul

An important aspect of my work as a psychologist is helping people by means of language and by working on language. When I say language in this context, I also mean stories – stories as an important tool for understanding ourselves and the world around us. During consultations, we ask questions, explore new perspectives, and search for new ways of speaking about our experiences. Sometimes even a small shift in how we view our own story can open space for changes that become very real in every day life.

In my work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, I approach each encounter with curiosity. I see it as my task to keep a horizon as wide as possible. I am willing to continually extend my own understanding of what makes a life worth living. I am supported in this by my education in the humanities, many years of experience working as a language teacher with people from different backgrounds, and my own life journey, which brought me from Germany to Poland.

I hold a Master's degree in Psychology from SWPS University in Warsaw (clinical psychology track). I completed a clinical internship at Psychoklinika in Warsaw, where I worked with teenagers and their parents. Alongside my private practice, I work as a psychologist in an international preschool, supporting children, parents, and educational staff in addressing emotional and developmental challenges.

In my work, I draw primarily on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). I appreciate this approach for its emphasis on respect for each person's individual values, its openness to different ways of living, and careful attention to the meanings we give to our experiences.

How do I work?

For many years, I have lived between languages and cultures myself.

As a German living in Poland, a graduate of North American Studies and psychology, and someone who moves between German, Polish, and English, I know from personal experience that changing countries, languages, or cultural environments can be both enriching and challenging.
